Trending colors this summer 2026 and how to include them in your wardrobe

This summer 2026 comes with a very desirable palette: soft colors, earth tones and some more intense ones that can help us lift any look. The idea is not to change your entire wardrobe or dress “on trend” from top to bottom, but to find those colors that suit you, that combine with what you already have and that solve real plans: office, dinner, vacation, afterwork or weekend.

Among the trending colors of 2026, the ones we will see the most this season are Cloud Dancer, terracotta brown, cobalt blue and butter yellow. Four very different shades, but easy to wear if you know how to combine them. They are seasonal colors that work both in daytime looks and in more special options, and that is why they fit very well if you are looking to update your wardrobe without losing your style.

Broken white or cloud dancer

Personally, it is the color of the season that I like the most for summer. The Cloud Dancer is clean, bright and very easy to wear. Plus, it's been recognized as Color of the Year, so it makes perfect sense that we'll see it this season.

I would especially recommend it on dresses. Unlike a cold white, Cloud Dancer is a warm white, and that makes it ideal for summer: it is more flattering, looks less rigid and fits very well with the natural light of this time. In fluid, shirt, midi or long dresses, it looks fresh and very neat.

To combine it, I would play it safe: accessories in beige, nude or sand tones, such as sandals, a bag or a belt. And to give it a more polished finish, gold jewelry: small earrings, a thin bracelet or a simple necklace. It is a color that allows you to look elegant without weighing down your look.

Terracotta brown

As is customary among spring-summer trends, brown is once again one of the colors of the season, but this year we will see it especially in a terracotta version. It is a warmer brown, with a very flattering reddish hue, which looks especially good in summer because it combines great with light tones, linen, gold and fiber accessories.

If you wear it with pants or skirts, it works very well with light tops, such as a white shirt, an ecru top or a basic t-shirt. If you prefer to wear it in a top, I would combine it with white pants, light jeans or skirts in neutral tones.

If you want a more special look, another option is to wear it in a two-piece set and combine it with gold accessories. The gold brings light to the terracotta brown and makes the set look more put together, perfect for a summer dinner.

cobalt blue

Cobalt blue is an intense color with a lot of presence. I especially like it in summer because the contrast with lightly tanned skin makes it even more flattering. Among the trending colors this summer 2026, it is one of the most interesting options if you want the look to have more presence without having to resort to prints.

On dresses, it works especially well. The color is already strong on its own, so I would combine it with simple accessories: nude, white, black or metallic sandals, depending on the type of plan.

If you want a warmer result, it looks very pretty with gold jewelry and accessories in beige or natural leather.

And if the color is too intense for you, you can also try darker cobalt blue variations. They maintain the strength of blue, but feel more sober and are easier to combine with evening looks or events.

Butter yellow

Butter yellow is one of the prettiest summer colors if you want to add soft, easy-to-wear color. It is bright, flattering and much less intense than other yellows, so it fits very well into daytime looks.

I would recommend it especially for light clothing: flowy dresses, blouses, tops, midi skirts or thin shirts. In dresses it looks very fresh, especially if you combine it with flat sandals, nude accessories or a fiber bag.

To combine it, I would go with light tones such as white, ecru, beige or sand. It also looks great with jeans if you want a more casual look. And if you're looking for something a little more special, you can add gold jewelry or soft brown accessories to give it more warmth.

How to include the trending colors of this summer 2026 in your wardrobe

The easiest way to wear these colors is not to wear them all at once, but rather to choose one or two that fit with the clothes you already have.

If your wardrobe has a lot of light basics, you can add a more intense tone such as cobalt blue or terracotta brown. If you usually dress in neutral colors, butter yellow or Cloud Dancer can help you add light without straying too far from your usual style.

You can also start with clothes that you wear a lot: a summer dress, a light shirt, a simple top or an easy-to-combine skirt. Thus the trend does not remain in a one-time purchase, but in a piece that really fits into your daily life and you can wear at different times.

The key is to choose shades that you really like and that you can combine without having to redo your entire wardrobe. Thus, the colors integrate with your usual clothing and allow you to incorporate trends naturally.
